Using sugarcane straws to save our planet, we have saved

Biodegradable sugarcane straws are made strictly of sugarcane fibers (bagasse) with a fine blend of biodegradable toxin-free PLA. The fibers are held together using binders derived from sugarcane and cassava.

Sugarcane straws are plant-based straws and are certified as 100% biodegradable by BPI.

Sugarcane straws aren't edible, but they can be fully composted within 3-6 months.

Sugarcane straws are compostable and eco-friendly straws. It's best to dispose of the used sugarcane straws in composting bins and send them to a composting facility. This industrial method degrades the straws and converts them into high-nutrient compost.

Yes, Sipli sugarcane straws contain no plastic. It is the best biodegradable straws for restaurants. They are certified by PIDC to have: Zero Polypropylene (PP), Zero Polystyrene (PS), Zero Polyethylene (PE), Zero Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Zero Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).

Although meant for one-time use, sugarcane straws can be reusable drinking straws if well cleaned and kept.

At Straw Matters, we provide different sizes of biodegradable drinking straws, such as sugarcane cocktail straws, sugarcane standard straws, sugarcane smoothie straws, and sugarcane bubble tea straws.

Naturally, there are red and white sugarcanes, and we often mix both of their fibers in different proportions. What you get is a color variation amongst the straws. Do not mistake the color for some synthetic additive: it is merely the natural sugarcane fibers that you can see if you hold the straw up to a light source.

It would be best to store sugarcane straws in a cool and dry place away from humidity and direct sunlight, as these are known to affect its durability and performance.

We do not recommend you to use sugarcane straws in hot drinks since high temperatures affect their durability and performance. It should only be used in cold and lukewarm beverages.

Paper straws typically get soggy when immersed in liquid, unlike Sipli sugarcane straws. Also, sugarcane straws are smoother and add no paper taste to your drink. Instead, they add a pleasant sugarcane smell. They also have no coatings or dye, as you would find in paper straws.

Canada will ban single-use plastics in 2023 as part of its zero-waste strategy. Plastic straws do not decompose; they impact our environment negatively. Sipli sugarcane straws are the best alternative compostable straws.
